The king tree of sub-Saharan Africa. It yields 150 to 280 kg of mangoes a year at maturity and spreads a protective 15-metre canopy that shelters the village from heat waves above 40°C.
This name will be engraved on the wooden plaque filmed in your video and shown on your official certificate.
“There is no Muslim who plants a tree or sows a seed from which a human, a bird or an animal eats, except that it is counted for him as charity (Sadaqa).”
— Reported by Al-Bukhari (2320) and Muslim (1553)
The mango tree (Mangifera indica L.) is an imposing age-old tree whose lifespan often exceeds 100 to 150 years. In the African savannas it plays a vital double role: provider of food and climate regulator. Its fragrant fruit is a providential source of provitamin A (beta-carotene), essential to prevent night blindness in young children. With a leaf dome up to 15 metres wide, it creates a temperature drop of 4 to 8°C beneath its branches: it is the palaver tree where elders gather, where schoolchildren study and where livestock find shelter.
