An Aqiqa,
and a fruit tree that grows with my child

For every Aqiqa, TreeDon plants a free fruit tree as Sadaqa Jariya in my child’s name, with a du‘a for them by name. As long as the tree bears fruit, the reward continues, in sha Allah.

May Allah protect my child and bless their life. Ameen.

Why I do it

I thank Allah for my child

كُلُّ غُلَامٍ رَهِينَةٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُسَمَّى

« Every newborn is held in pledge for their Aqiqa, sacrificed for them on the seventh day. »

(Reported by Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasa’i)

The Aqiqa is a confirmed Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ: one sheep for a girl, two for a boy, sacrificed to thank Allah for the birth. By giving it, I celebrate my child and share my joy with families who will eat meat that day.

The right day

I choose the day of their Aqiqa

The Sunnah recommends the 7th day. If I missed it, other dates remain, and the Aqiqa is always possible.

  1. Birth

I thank Allah and prepare their Aqiqa.

  2. Sunnah

    7th day

The ideal day, when my child receives their name.

  3. 14th day

If the 7th day has already passed.

  4. 21st day

    The next date, still recommended.

  5. Later

It is never too late: I can always give it.

Born after Maghrib? The Islamic day starts at sunset, so counting begins the next day. I simply say so in the form.

My questions about the Aqiqa

What I want to know before giving my child’s Aqiqa.

What is the Aqiqa?

It is the sacrifice of one or two sheep for the birth of a child, to thank Allah. A confirmed Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, whose meat is shared with those in need.

How many sheep should I give?

Following the Sunnah: one sheep for a girl (167 €) and two sheep for a boy (334 €).

When should I give it?

Ideally on the 7th day after birth, otherwise the 14th or 21st. After these dates I can still give it: it is never too late.

Is it compulsory?

No. It is a strongly recommended Sunnah, not an obligation. It is encouraged for every parent who can afford it.

How do I know it is done?

Once the sacrifice is carried out and the meat distributed, I receive the photos and videos of my Aqiqa. For any question, I write to the team from the Contact page.

What is the free fruit tree?

For every Aqiqa, TreeDon plants a free fruit tree as Sadaqa Jariya for my child, with a du‘a for them by name. I also receive the photos and videos of my Aqiqa.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي وَهَبَ لِي عَلَى الْكِبَرِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ

« Praise be to Allah, who has granted me, in old age, Ishmael and Isaac. »

Surah Ibrahim, 14:39

May Allah bless my child

May Allah protect my child and bless their life. Ameen.

Insha’Allah
